Pack a Shoebox and Share the Good News
Starting Sunday, October 22, shoeboxes will be available at MACC. Return filled shoeboxes by Sunday, November 12. This year, MACC is the county’s central drop-off location. Below you will find volunteer opportunities, how to pack a shoebox online and tips for filling your shoeboxes.
Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan's Purse, an international Christian relief and evangelism organization. OCC’s mission is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world and to share the good news of Jesus.
Volunteer Opportunities
AA County Drop-off Location
This year, MACC is Anne Arundel County’s central drop-off location during National Collection Week, November 13–20. All boxes packed in the county will be brought here to be packed into trailers before being sent to the processing center. Help with hosting at our location, unloading boxes when dropped off, packing trailers and more. We will need heavy lifters, in addition to folks willing to greet donors, bring shoeboxes in from their vehicles and pack shoeboxes into cartons.
OCC Processing Center
Serve alongside others from MACC at the OCC Processing Center on Thursday, November 30, from 6 to 10 p.m. See the next step in the journey of a shoebox, and be the last person to touch and pray over a shoebox before it makes its way to its recipient! Kids 13 years and up are welcome to volunteer with adults. Chick-fil-A is usually on site to purchase meals, or you can bring your own. Tasks almost entirely require standing, but you can take breaks as needed. The location this year is 2100 Sparrows Point Blvd, Edgemere, MD. Email leiacellaa23@hotmail.com to volunteer.

Don’t think you’ll have time to shop for a shoebox? You can still bring a smile to a child’s face and share the hope, joy and love of Christ through your shoebox gift and the Gospel message.
