Update From Missionary

We are in Romania now about an hour from the Ukrainian border. At the present time we have 71 Ukrainian refugees with us, all of them mothers with children and young people under 18 years old. 200 have come through in the last week, here and in one more location. Husbands and fathers and sons who are ages 18 to 60 stay in Ukraine to fight. No one objects to this because they are fighting for their homes. These men are not soldiers in a regular army, they are parts of regional regiments who stay in their own home towns to defend it. There is a real sense among the people that they will win this war. None of the mama’s talk about immigrating somewhere else, they all want to go back to Ukraine. To their own homes. They have hope that this is temporary and that soon they will be reunited. We are networking to find places for these mama’s and children around Europe. Tonight two of the mothers with two children left for the Netherlands with a couple of men from a church there that we met through this new network. These two guys drove 20 hours to get here, slept two hours and now they head back. A couple of families in Rotterdam will keep them until they know whether they can return or not. One of the Dutch guys made a statement :if everyone does a little something, we can make a difference.’ It’s what we are trying to do as well. I am encouraged by how the church and Her people have banded together to make this happen. It is how it is supposed to work. It is not just a government operation. We, as God’s people, have a role to fill. Today we will be gathering more foods and supplies for people still living and fighting in Ukraine. There is need for medical supplies that are even hard to find here. They are asking for tourniquets, bandages, pain relievers, disinfectants, water, gloves, blanket, etc. Plus all the basic food staples. We are gathering all that we can find here in Cluj and Baia Mare. These supplies will be going into Ukraine tomorrow. We are so thankful to partner with you in this work. Thanks for every thought and prayer. I am attaching a few photos of some of the people from the camps.
