Aid & Distribution Update

We left the camp in Romania yesterday for our first foray into Ukraine. We loaded vans and cars with as much of the essential goods as we could carry. Our first goal is to set up a long supply line that will reach from us and eventually to Kiev region. The war has spread even into the west now so we may need to be working east and west also. For now we will be working towards Vinnitsa and then to Kiev region. The route is marked on the map below. We started yesterday in Ivano-Frankivsk region for our first staging area. This area was shelled in the opening of the war three weeks ago, but has been relatively quiet since.

We are trying to target the families of the people which are in the camp with us in Romania that have either stayed behind on purpose because they didn’t want to leave or who are part of the regional armies that have sprung up in every region. By targeting these families, we are more certain that the aid we gather will be distributed to those is most need. We are also working in Ukraine with churches that are still functioning and trying to meet the needs of their people and those around them. These are our brothers and sisters in Christ and this is what I think we are trying to fulfil:

“Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. Rescue the poor and helpless; deliver them from the grasp of evil people" (Psalm 82:3-4).
